FRODDO – Kick off meeting

The FRODDO project, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation initiative, officially kicked-off. The project launch was marked by a successful meeting with the FRODDO consortium, hosted by the project coordinator, ERTICO - ITS Europe, at their headquarters in Brussels on July 3rd and 4th, 2024. This meeting brought together partners from across Europe, united in their mission to advance the cooperation of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) actors.

FRODDO aims to develop and test a comprehensive suite of methods and tools grounded in the principles of safe systems design within a federated Digital Twin environment. The project leverages advanced sensing, Machine Learning, hybrid Artificial Intelligence, and simulation to enhance the adaptability and sustainability of Operational Design Domains (ODDs) in complex and dynamically changing road contexts. This will enable improved management of both physical and digital infrastructure, fostering the development of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM).

In the FRODDO project, CONVERGENCE's focus will be on conducting an in-depth analysis of the needs and requirements of all CCAM actors and society, with a special focus on societal aspects. This will ensure efficient and solid communication and cooperation for future ODDs. We are committed to safeguarding that all ethical and societal requirements are considered in project activities, ensuring inclusivity and bias-free approaches in the design and implementation of the project solutions.

As we move forward with the FRODDO project, we are excited about the potential impacts and innovations that will emerge. Our efforts will be focused on developing scalable solutions, engaging stakeholders, and promoting digital transformation to enhance the safety, efficiency, and acceptance of ADS. We look forward to working closely with our partners and stakeholders to achieve the FRODDO project's ambitious goals and pave the way for a safer, more inclusive, and technologically advanced future for automated mobility.
