As part of FERMI’s efforts to tackle disinformation, CONVERGENCE hosted a webinar on December 4th, 2024, titled Digital Trust in Action: Technological Approaches and Citizen Empowerment to Combat Disinformation. The webinar featured speakers Nikos Dimakopoulos, Senior EU-funded R&I Project Manager at ITML, the FERMI project’s technical coordinator, who shared insights on FERMI's technological innovations and David Timis, a renowned AI & Future of Work Expert, who focused on digital literacy and the impact of AI.

Discussions highlighted:

  • the challenges posed by disinformation,
  • the importance of critical thinking and digital literacy,
  • AI's dual role in spreading and combating misinformation.

The webinar underscored the need for collaboration and upskilling to create a more resilient digital ecosystem.
